Making him walk the plank (and other updates).

From Eden's Desk

HeyReader,

Just a quick note today — starting next month, I’ll be sending this newsletter once a month, on the 1st. You’ll also hear from me on release days, so nothing important will slip past you.

Like a lot of folks in the LGBTQIA+ and autistic communities right now, my mental health has been stretched thin. I’m doing what I can to protect the small spark I have — and that means pulling back from some things to keep creating the things that matter most.

Which brings me to this:
I’m deep in the Tides of Reckoning revisions, and it’s honestly what’s keeping me grounded. It’s fierce and sharp and tangled, and it’s coming to life in ways that I can’t wait to share with you.

With love and appreciation,

Eden

Tides of Reckoning: an excerpt

(making a captain of another ship walk the plank)

Gracie and Eleanor lashed chainshot to Wilson’s bindings. The heavy lead weights would drag him down fast. There would be no longboat for him.

Blackthorn stepped forward, drawing her pistol with deliberate calm. The crew parted as she pressed the barrel to Wilson’s back, marching him toward the plank. He fought every step, snarling curses under his breath, but she didn’t flinch.

At the edge, he twisted to snarl one final warning:

“Morley will burn you and your filthy haven to ash.”

Blackthorn stamped hard on the plank. Wilson plunged into the black water below—chainshot dragging him out of sight without a trace.

Silence.

Hello Reader, September brought something special — the release of Tides of Reckoning, Book 2 in the Tides series — and I’ve been so grateful for your notes, reviews, and quiet moments shared about the story. I worried it might feel like a “bridge book,” but you’ve reminded me that middle stories can be some of the most powerful… especially when the stakes are rising and the heart of a heroine like Izzy is on the line. As I step back from the world of storms and salt air, I’m letting new...

Hello Reader, Here’s a confession: Tides of Captivation only exists because I made a joke.I know... But it's true... I’d finished For Love and Liberty (though I hadn’t worked up the nerve to publish it yet), and I was turning over ideas for what might come next—something I could write and market consistently, while living aboard a sailboat in the Florida Keys. One day, in the middle of all this wondering, I looked at my husband and said:“What am I going to do, write pirate stories?” The...

Eden’s Desk Hello Reader,! Somehow, we made it to February. I swear, January lasted at least three years—and February is already looking like it’s following in its footsteps. But despite time playing tricks on me, I’ve been keeping busy with writing and plotting. I’ve been deep in planning mode for Tides of Reckoning, and I’m so excited about where this story is heading! There’s something about diving into the tangled webs of pirate alliances, betrayals, and sapphic romance that feels like...
